My top ten reasons I am glad I started this project

(a bit longer than usual post)

Hard to get started after doing a post daily - back on track I hope.

THE START

In 2008 and 2009 I would walk to a nearby park and take photos throughout the seasons to hone my photographic skills. Yet I am not a nature photographer and I tired of this routine, but I didn't want to give up the routine of going outside every day for lunch. Then in November 2009 I came across 4 couches within a few days on my lunch time walk and have never looked back.

I had never recalled seeing thrown out couches on my bike ride to work before, but now, just like when you purchase a type of car you never saw before, I saw these couches everywhere.  Being the competitive person that I am, I have made slight alterations in my route to work to ensure that each year I am able to find more couches than the year before. I was successful as you can see my progression by month and year in these charts.

Like the true addict that I am at the beginning of 2013, I was able to not take photos of these couches for two whole days before relapsing. But now, at the beginning of 2014 I believe the exercise really has run its course and feel that there is not much more that I can get out of it.

Like most long-term projects there needs to be closure. To achieve this I will end with my top ten reasons I am glad I started this project. Usually my posts have been designed to be consumed in less than a minute, but in this instance I expect that each reason will need to be addressed in longer posts and probably multiple posts for each reason.

I will be posting a blog each ten days so see you then.
