Replacement property

as this is the last post of the year I thought I would show something completely different - a couch that is wanted. Will I still be taking photos of unwanted couches when this one is thrown out?
Tomorrow I will do my daily posts but with the couches that the photos were taken in 2012 before I started this blog.

How many did I miss over the year?

Often I would come across the pillows of a couch and wonder have I already missed it or will the couch show up soon.

Trans Island and Dupuis SW

at lunch - Friday December 28
Funny - the last time I walked down this street was two weeks ago, when I found a couch at the side of the house. When I came across this one I assumed it was the same one, only now brought to the curb. I checked and not the same couch - but goes with my theory that when someone else sees a couch thrown out - they often follow suit.

Going home - Thursday December 27
even a record storm doesn't stop me

Not the normal car seats thrown out

Not posted when it should have been ( or not really unwanted couches) either way as part of the year end cleanup I decided to post.

at lunch  - Monday November 12
I seem to be finding a lot of car seats that are separated from their cars lately. Here are a few others.

Mainz Germany (December holiday)

Although not really adhering to my strict guidelines of what meets an unwanted couch, I can not take a vacation from taking photos of couches ( although in theory this project is over?!)

Coronation and Fielding NE

going to work - Thursday December 20.
I was still looking out the window of the bus (which more or less takes the same route as my bike ride) to look for couches . The first photo is from the bus, the second a crop to show the couch, and the third is trying to get a better picture when we pass it! These photos are the prime reason I don't continue to just show how many couches are thrown out; that I try to keep it as an artistic project.

Clanranald and Queen Mary SE

going to work - Thursday January 12
In the early part of the year the couches needed to be near my bus stop, and here iI was lucky to find two.

(Merry Christmas!!)
Below is a Christmas gift I received last year - a stuffed toy of three guys on a couch- just in case you didn't think this has permeated my whole life.

TransIsland and Bourret NW

at lunch Friday December 14
I am no longer biking, but I thought I would continue to take lunch time walks, but only have once or twice since being back from holidays. I even drove to work and saw four couches on my way to work and did not stop to take a photo. But couldn't really go cold turkey!

Decarie and Snowdon SW

at lunch -Tuesday December 11 - ended up with this as my last post for instagram. For this blog I intend to continue to show all my couches found during the year. As I started doing the blog during the year I have those I captured before starting to still post. Then my intention is to continue updating the blog all of 2013 not with totally new posts BUT with updating various days with observations and photos from my archives etc.

Coronation and Fielding NE

going to work -Monday December 10
I posted a #dailycouch on Instagram for the duration of my bicycling season- I still had posted daily while I was on holiday in Germany. There was a snowfall when I got back, and the first day I drove and had to stop to take what I was considering my last photo to post there.

O'Bryan and Fielding NW

going to work - Monday November 19
As I wind down on this project I contemplate what I will do next year. I can not imagine no longer taking photos of the couches that I come across; but here is one thing I will probably do - is move some garbage around to make a more pleasing picture. This is one of less than a handful of the more than 1,000 that I have taken that I have manipulated the scene.

Snowdon and Clanranald SW

going to work Monday November 15
a perfect example of the metal being taken for scrap. The one pleasant byproduct for me is that I have always considered the hide-a-bed as the ugliest couch to photograph - but with the bed part removed, it has a different look.

going to work Tuesday November 16

Decarie and Snowdon SW

at lunch  - Monday November 12

I was extremely happen to get this photo. Lately I feel I have not only been competing with the garbage trucks but also free lance garbage pickers. Recently I took a photo on the first day of a hide a bed type couch with the hide-a-bed part and the next day the metal had been removed. Here my photo captures the metal being removed from the couch as it happens.
