Types of Couches #6 (Victorian style serpentine button back sofa)

I wanted to give an example of a chesterfield, which is a specific type of couch - the back is tufted like this one, the arms are the same height as the back and it usually is in leather. The tuxedo sofa also has the back and the sides at the same height (see tomorrow). The one below is the closest I have to a chesterfield - back needs to be tufted.

10. How there is a wealth of variety and hidden knowledge in everything (part 1)

I never thought that the photographing of thrown out couches would take me on so many journeys, and make me aware of how no matter how much someone knows about any one subject, there will always be more that they do not know. There are numerous names for the different types of couches, a bit like horses, and that there are almost an infinite number of permutations and combinations even when there are only a few variables. I have been going through my more than 2,000 couches looking for a match – somehow I feel there must be one somewhere – but not sure. Here are a number with a very similar fabric (can you find which couch this detail photograph was taken from?)
