two at the same location - I don't want to be seen as a language police sympathizer - but the French sign is from June 4, 2009 and the English one is from July 6, 2011

I usually do not take photos of couches more than once, and remembered having taken the first shot at this for sale sign. Didn't remember the couch, but couldn't believe there would be a second one within a few days.

One day break from top ten lists

Every day i post one of my recent couch photographs on Instagram and tag #sofafree and #dailycouch.

Imagine my surprise when the earliest photos with the hash tag that I could go back to (I guess you can't go back to the beginning anymore?!) were the only three images that weren't mine!

by September 20, 2011 the ottoman was gone and the two couches could hardly be seen

                        

 

I thought maybe I would be losing them when they got tidied up as shown in the photo November 16 but they were still there throughout the winter as the photo on March 7, 2012 attests 

my last sighting (there was only one of the two couches at the time of the this photo) on March 26, 2012

from December 7, 2011- although it is not evident I had to walk down a driveway that had a series of garages to fing this one; but once I knew it was there I revisited in as one of my first photos of 2012 taken March 22 below

then I was a bit surprised that on April 23 they lugged it all the way to the front yard to throw it out; at the beginning I didn't know it was the same couch

my romance with this couch started on September 30, 2011 - i enjoyed how its position charged over the months and I even once took a photo of it witth the owner watching. Below one you may recognize as my favourite snow ciouch from Mar 7, 2012 and below that from March 26, 2012

One of my early couches - on the left from May 1, 2009 and more than a year later July 28th 2010 on the right. What I really like about the diptych is that there is an extra telephone pole in the latter photo1

I really enjoyed this sequence - on the left was how I saw it as I was bicycling to work in the morning, coming home bothe the mattress and couch had been propped around the fire hydrant and finally the next morning the mattress had left him alone

 the only couch that I think was claimed by someone and then thrown out by the new owner a few months later
